The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven's 36-hour online "giving fest" known as The Great Give gets under way on Wednesday, May 1, at 8 a.m., and we hope you'll take time to support your favorite performing arts organization! Your donations will again support our Artists' Awards grants program, which awards money to Connecticut professional performing artists to create new work and premiere it at the next GreenStage Live Arts festival. It will also support an expanded slate of GreenStage programming that we intend to introduce later this year, in Guilford and other Shoreline towns. Our goal is $10,000.
Every cent you donate to GreenStage through The Great Give goes to us and qualifies us for a pro-rated share of $100,000 in matching funds from a Community Foundation pool at the end of the event. In addition, there are particular times when your donation can be compounded by various prizes and incentives. So check these out; you may want to time your donation to maximize your support of GreenStage:
Wednesday, May 1, 8-9 a.m.: Early Bird donations make us eligible for one of two random drawings worth $1,000. The more donations we receive, the better our chances!
Wednesday, May 1, 12-2 p.m.: Lunch Hour Double Draw. There will be two random drawings for prizes of $1,000 and $750. We'll be eligible as long as we receive at least one donation of any amount.
Wednesday, May 1, 3:15 p.m.: A $1,500 prize will go to the organization that gets a gift of $15 or more closest to exactly 3:15 p.m.
Wednesday, May 1, 5-7 p.m.: Happy Hour Double Draw. There will be two random drawings for prizes of $1,000 and $750. We'll be eligible as long as we receive at least one donation of any amount.
Wednesday, May 1, 8-9 p.m.: Bank of America Raise the Curtain Power Hour for the Arts. All donations will receive a pro-rated share of a $10,000 BofA match pool, based on the total number of unique donors during that hour.
Thursday, May 2, midnight: The organization with a gift closest to midnight wins a $500 Midnight Snack Prize!
Thursday, May 2, 3:15 a.m.: Yes, a.m.! A $1,500 prize will go to the organization that gets a gift of $15 or more closest to exactly 3:15 a.m.
Thursday, May 2, 2-4 a.m.: A random drawing will award the $1,000 Insomnia Draw Prize to an organization that gets at least one donation between these hours.
