Laura Clapp Davidson, a singer-songwriter whose incredible voice took her around the world before she came home to Guilford to raise a family, has joined the GreenStage board of directors. One of the Shoreline’s best-known and popular musicians, Laura will bolster our programming efforts, connecting us with other world-class performers and assisting in the production of events that showcase regional artists, bring the community together and create buzz for GreenStage.
Laura shares her love of music as a Retail Market Development lead for the legendary Shure Incorporated, and has represented a number of other music technology companies, including Casio, Alvarez, Boss, Blue and TC Helicon.
Laura grew up in Guilford and was raised on the classics—Fitzgerald, Sinatra, Mozart—but one day stumbled on The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album in her parents’ record collection. Transformed, she began writing, singing and creating music; graduated from Berklee College of Music; and moved to Nashville, where she established a successful singing career. Her most visible work was as backing vocalist for ’80s synth legend Howard Jones. She’s released three albums of original music and is working on her fourth.
