CT Humanities Awards GreenStage Quick Grant

greenstageguilford

Connecticut Humanities, a strong supporter of GreenStage since shortly after our founding, has awarded us a $4,999 quick grant. We’ll use the funds to present humanities-oriented programs, followed by artist-audience talkbacks, during the 2025 GreenStage Live Arts Festival.

Among the 30 live performances and hands-on activities in this year’s festival will be seven specifically supported by the Connecticut Humanities grant. They include two new plays, one of them commissioned by GreenStage; plus performances and participatory experiences featuring the music, dance, histories, cultures and traditions of Afro-Brazil, the Middle East, the Caribbean and West Africa.

Connecticut Humanities, an independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, encourages curiosity, understanding and critical thinking. It has supported every GreenStage festival since 2019. We’re proud and honored to have them with us again.
