Catch the GreenStage Experience October 5 at The Place

Updated: Sep 19

Presenting The GreenStage Experience, a fun and informative all-ages showcase of GreenStage Guilford Live Arts programming! This free event is Saturday, October 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. Come enjoy an evening of live entertainment by local favorites and artists from around the East Coast and learn more about GreenStage’s plans for 2025. Put your rump on a stump, savor the delicious grilled food of Guilford’s unique The Place restaurant, and join the GreenStage experience. Performers include:

Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band

Featured on NBC’s The Today Show, the West-Haven-based Caribbean Vibe plays fun, festive, high-energy music of the Islands. They play concerts, beach parties, weddings and other events up and down the Atlantic coast.

Laura Clapp

Laura’s a singer-songwriter whose incredible voice took her around the world before she came home to Guilford to raise a family. She spent years performing and recording in Nashville, was a backing vocalist to ’80s legend Howard Jones and is working on her fourth album of original music.

The CONN Artists

Another Guilford favorite, The CONN Artists is an a cappella vocal ensemble whose repertoire ranges from Doo-Wop standards to complex vocal jazz to rock classics and sacred songs—performed with wicked original arrangements and no small amount of humor.

John Wesley Dankwa

John’s a performer and ethnographer at Wesleyan University who specializes in the traditional drumming of West Africa, especially Ghana. He and his group will perform and demonstrate West African rhythmic music while explaining its social, cultural and historical context.

Ranendra Kumar Das

Ranendra grew up in Bangladesh and has studied Western and Indian classical music, with the tabla drum as his primary instrument. He’s performed throughout the U.S., including at Madison Square Garden and Symphony Space in New York, and the dedication of the Martin Luther King Memorial in Washington, D.C.

SJD Squared

Jim and Steve DePasque are singer-songwriter-guitarists whose original music and stage presence knocked it out of the park at GreenStage’s 2024 summer open mic nights. They’ll be performing solo and together.

Kate Wolff

Kate Wolff is a Philadelphia-based comedian (and tarot card reader!) who’s appeared on Tru TV, Fox and Nickelodeon’s NickMom Night Out. She’s performed at the New York Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, and can be seen frequently on the New York-Atlantic City-Philly comedy circuit.
